Land Rover Defender Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE P300 2.0 Petrol

The Land Rover Defender is one of the best known off-road SUVs in the world, and in India it is now easier to buy than ever. From October 2026, the Defender 110 is assembled at JLR's plant in Pune using kits shipped from Slovakia. This has brought its ex-showroom price down to Rs 99 lakh for the 2.0-litre petrol and Rs 1.18 crore for the 3.0-litre petrol and diesel versions. JLR says the top version is now up to Rs 34 lakh cheaper than a similarly equipped imported car. Body styles: In India, Land Rover's current price list has three Defender choices. The Defender 110 is the five-door model most people buy. It can be had with seating for up to seven people in a 5+2 layout. The Defender 130 is longer and offers up to eight seats across three rows, so it suits bigger families. The Defender OCTA is the top performance model, with five seats, a wider stance and a twin-turbo V8. The short three-door Defender 90 is not listed in Land Rover India's current price list. Engines and gearbox: The locally made Defender 110 comes in X-Dynamic HSE trim with three engines. The P300 is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol with 300 PS and 400 Nm. The P400 is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol with 400 PS and 550 Nm. The D350 is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder mild-hybrid diesel with 350 PS and 700 Nm. The Defender 130 uses the D350 diesel. The OCTA gets a 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 that makes 635 PS and 750 Nm, rising to 800 Nm in launch mode. Every Defender uses an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. Claimed 0 to 100 km/h times are 7.4 seconds for the P300, 6.1 seconds for the P400 and 6.4 seconds for the D350. The OCTA does it in 4.0 seconds as per landrover.in. Land Rover has not shared an official India mileage figure, so we have not listed one. Features: With local assembly, many paid options became standard. The P300 gets 17 extra features and the P400 and D350 get 29. Common highlights include electronic air suspension, Adaptive Dynamics, Terrain Response 2, Wade Sensing, Matrix LED headlights, a sliding panoramic roof, a ClearSight interior mirror and three-zone climate control. The 3.0-litre versions also add an electronic active differential, 20-inch alloy wheels, 14-way heated and cooled front seats, Meridian surround sound and a head-up display. Inside, the Pivi Pro system runs on a 13.1-inch curved touchscreen. Off-road ability: The air suspension can lift the Defender 110 by 75 mm, giving up to 293 mm of ground clearance. It can wade through water up to 900 mm deep and tow up to 3,500 kg. Rivals: At around Rs 1 crore, the Defender 110 takes on the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q7. The bigger 130 sits close to the Mercedes-Benz GLS. The OCTA is a rival to the Mercedes-AMG G 63. Should you buy one? If you want a luxury SUV that can also go far off the road, the Defender is hard to beat. The locally made 110 now gives more standard kit for less money, which makes it the smartest Defender to buy in India right now.
