Defender 110: the one most people should buy
The 110 is the classic five-door Defender. Since October 2026 it is assembled in Pune, which cut the price and added a lot of standard kit. The P300 gets 17 extra standard features, including air suspension, Terrain Response 2 and Wade Sensing. The P400 and D350 get 29, including an active rear differential, 20-inch alloys, Meridian sound and a head-up display. With the 5+2 layout, the 110 can carry seven people when needed. Pick the P300 if most of your driving is in the city and you want the lowest price. Pick the D350 if you do long highway runs or tow. Its 700 Nm makes it feel strong, and it costs the same as the P400. Pick the P400 if you want the smoothest and quickest 110.
Defender 130: for big families
The 130 is the longest Defender. It offers up to eight seats across three rows, so adults can use the third row properly. It comes only with the D350 diesel in India. You pay Rs 28 lakh more than a 110 D350 for the extra length and seats. It is still imported.
Defender OCTA: the extreme one
The OCTA is the most powerful Defender ever made. Its 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 makes 635 PS. It also gets 6D Dynamics hydraulic suspension, a wider body and 22-inch wheels. It seats five. At over Rs 2.4 crore, it is a rival to the Mercedes-AMG G 63, not a family SUV. If you want the Mercedes G-Class kind of attitude with more off-road focus, this is it.
