  • INDULGE vs Essence: about Rs 85,000 more for looks, a tan cabin and a rear roof screen
  • INDULGE vs Exclusive Pro: just Rs 5,000 apart, but very different cars
  • Our pick for most buyers: Exclusive Pro if range matters, INDULGE if rear comfort matters

With the INDULGE Edition now on sale, the MG Windsor line-up has six options. Four use the 38 kWh battery and two use the bigger 52.9 kWh pack. The prices are packed close together, and that makes the choice harder than it looks.

What Each Variant Gets

Excite

The entry point. You get LED headlamps, 17-inch steel wheels, fabric seats, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control and the 135-degree reclining rear seat. It covers the basics well.

Exclusive

This adds 18-inch alloys, leatherette seats, the big 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, a powered driver seat, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger and OTA updates. For Rs 1.30 lakh over the Excite, it is a big jump in features.

Essence

The top 38 kWh variant adds the glass roof, ventilated front seats, the 9-speaker Infinity sound system, ambient lighting, a PM2.5 air filter and a 7.4 kW AC charger.

INDULGE Edition

Everything from the Essence, plus Shadow Gold paint with a black roof, black ORVMs, 18-inch black alloys, Urban Tan and Black seats, INDULGE embroidery on the front headrests, themed cushions and neck pillows, and the roof-mounted PRIVE Screen for rear passengers. Exclusive Pro

The Exclusive's features with the 52.9 kWh battery, plus the Infinity sound system, a dual-tone ivory interior and a 7.4 kW AC charger.

Essence Pro

The full package. Essence features with the bigger battery, a dual-tone ivory interior, Level 2 ADAS, a powered tailgate and vehicle-to-load, which lets you power appliances from the car.

INDULGE vs Essence: Is Rs 85,000 Worth It?

Feature Essence INDULGE
Price Rs 17,14,800 Rs 17,99,800
Battery and range 38 kWh, 332 km 38 kWh, 332 km
Paint Regular Windsor shades Shadow Gold with black roof
Alloys 18-inch 18-inch black
Upholstery Standard Urban Tan and Black
Rear roof screen No Yes, standard
Cushions and pillows No Yes

The rear screen alone would cost a fair bit if fitted later, and an aftermarket unit will never look as neat. Add the exclusive paint and cabin, and the Rs 85,000 gap looks fair. If you do not care about the back seat screen, save the money and take the Essence.

INDULGE vs Exclusive Pro: Same Money, Different Cars

This is the tricky one. The Exclusive Pro costs only Rs 5,000 more than the INDULGE. What you get is a 52.9 kWh battery and a certified range of 449 km. That is 117 km more on paper.

What you give up is the glass roof, the ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, the special paint and the rear screen. So the INDULGE is the more comfortable car, and the Exclusive Pro is the more practical one.

Our advice is simple. If you do regular intercity runs, like Delhi to Jaipur or Mumbai to Pune and back, pick the Exclusive Pro. If the car stays mostly in the city and the family sits in the back, the INDULGE will make them happier.
