The Mercedes GLC Electric price in India will be out on 4 November 2026, when Mercedes-Benz India launches it. Reports expect a price of ₹80 lakh to ₹90 lakh ex-showroom. India gets one version, the GLC 400 4MATIC, built at the Chakan plant near Pune. It has a 94 kWh battery and a claimed WLTP range of up to 715 km. If you know the petrol Mercedes-Benz GLC, this is its all-electric sibling.

Mercedes GLC Electric expected price in India
Mercedes has not shared the price yet. Autocar India expects ₹80 lakh to ₹90 lakh ex-showroom. CarWale puts its estimate at around ₹85 lakh. Treat all of these as estimates until the launch event on 4 November.
For context, the petrol and diesel GLC starts at ₹77 lakh ex-showroom. So the electric model could cost only a little more. Two things help here. The car is put together locally at Chakan, which cuts import costs. And EVs pay just 5% GST in India, while big petrol and diesel SUVs like the GLC pay 40%.
The on-road price will depend on your state. Road tax and registration rules for EVs differ from state to state, so check your local RTO charges before you budget.
What is confirmed and what is still expected
Confirmed by Mercedes-Benz India
Mercedes-Benz India's own website confirms the 4 November launch and the GLC 400 4MATIC name. It also confirms local production at Chakan, 489 hp, 800 Nm and a 0 to 100 kmph time of 4.3 seconds. The 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, the SKY CONTROL glass roof and a Burmester 3D sound system are on the India page too. So are Level 2 driver assistance and a total luggage space of 698 litres.
Expected or reported
The price is not out. The India range figure is not out either, so the 715 km number is the global WLTP claim. Autocar India reports 20-inch wheels and 9 airbags for the India car. Air suspension and rear-axle steering are standard abroad. It is not yet clear if India gets them, since the India page only mentions a comfort suspension with selective damping.
GLC Electric range and battery
The battery has 94 kWh of usable energy. Two motors drive all four wheels, and the rear motor gets a 2-speed gearbox. Mercedes quotes a WLTP range of 568 km to 715 km, based on spec and wheel size. Full global details are in the Mercedes-Benz press kit. Real range on Indian roads will be lower, as it is for every EV. Plan long trips with a buffer.
| Spec | GLC 400 4MATIC electric |

| Torque | 800 Nm |

GLC Electric charging time
The GLC Electric runs on an 800-volt system. On a 330 kW DC fast charger, it goes from 10 to 80 percent in about 22 minutes, as per Mercedes-Benz India. Mercedes says 10 minutes on such a charger can add up to 303 km of range.
The catch is that very few public chargers in India deliver 330 kW today. On a more common 60 kW charger, expect a much longer wait. Mercedes also says owners get access to over 22,000 charging points through its MB.CHARGE Public app. Most owners will still charge at home overnight.
GLC Electric features: Hyperscreen, roof and ADAS
The biggest talking point is inside. A 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen runs across the whole dashboard. It joins the driver display, the main screen and a front passenger screen under one glass panel.
The glass roof can switch from clear to dark at a touch. It also has lit-up Mercedes stars that match the ambient lighting. Outside, the grille frame glows at night, and DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps adjust to traffic. The Burmester 3D system has 15 speakers, 670 W and Dolby Atmos.
For safety, Mercedes lists MB.DRIVE Level 2 driver assistance. Some Level 2+ functions, such as Steering Assist, can be added later over the air.
GLC Electric booking and delivery date
Mercedes-Benz India opened expressions of interest on 5 October. It got more than 650 in the first 36 hours, as per the company. Brendon Sissing, its VP of Sales and Marketing, expects it to be one of the brand's most successful launches in India.
Deliveries are reported to begin from mid-November. Bookings are still open on the Mercedes India website and at dealers. Mercedes-Benz India also posted about the car on X ahead of the launch.
More than a new expression of electric mobility. The all-new electric GLC reimagines the art of driving.

GLC Electric vs GLC petrol: which one makes sense?
The petrol GLC is the safe pick if you drive long distances to towns with no fast chargers. It costs ₹77 lakh ex-showroom and refuels in minutes.
The electric GLC has 489 hp and costs less per km to run if you charge at home. In my view, it makes more sense if you have home charging and mostly drive in the city. Weekend trips like Mumbai to Pune are easy on one charge. If you want petrol speed instead, look at the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43.
GLC Electric rivals in India
The GLC Electric has no direct rival at launch. The BMW iX3 long wheelbase is expected in 2027, as per Autocar India. Until then, buyers will compare it with nearby options. The Mercedes CLA Electric is a smaller electric sedan. The Mercedes EQS SUV sits well above it. The BMW iX1 is a size smaller, and the petrol BMW X3 is the closest BMW by size.
If you are still deciding on the CLA, read our CLA Electric facts before booking. Mercedes also announced a price hike for 2026, as covered in our Mercedes-Benz price hike story.
Should you wait or book now?
Wait one day. The price comes out on 4 November, and we will update this page with it. If the price lands close to ₹80 lakh, the electric GLC will undercut many petrol rivals on running cost. If you want a full view of this month first, see our list of upcoming cars in November 2026.
