MG has a new special edition of the Windsor EV, and this one is all about the back seat. The Windsor INDULGE Edition costs Rs 17,99,800 ex-showroom as an introductory price. It wears a new Shadow Gold paint, gets a tan cabin and, for the first time on a Windsor, a screen in the roof for rear passengers.

Mechanically nothing changes. So the real question is simple. Is the new look and the rear screen worth paying extra over the regular Windsor? Let us break it down.

MG Windsor INDULGE Edition Price

MG has priced the INDULGE at Rs 17,99,800 ex-showroom. The company calls it an introductory price but has not said how long it will last. If you are keen, it makes sense to book early because MG often revises such prices after the first few weeks.

The INDULGE is built on the Essence, the top variant with the 38 kWh battery. Going by the prices listed on MG's website, the Essence costs Rs 17,14,800. That puts the INDULGE about Rs 85,000 higher.

Variant Battery Ex-showroom price
Excite 38 kWh Rs 14,84,800
Exclusive 38 kWh Rs 16,14,800
Essence 38 kWh Rs 17,14,800
INDULGE Edition 38 kWh Rs 17,99,800
Exclusive Pro 52.9 kWh Rs 18,04,800
Essence Pro 52.9 kWh Rs 19,14,800

Prices as listed on MG's website in October 2026. Check with your dealer for the latest price in your city.

MG's website also shows the Windsor under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan from Rs 13.14 lakh plus a battery rental of Rs 4.30 per km. We have explained how that plan works in our Windsor BaaS vs buying outright guide.

What is New on the Outside

The Shadow Gold body colour is the headline here. It comes with a black roof, so the car gets a proper dual-tone look. MG has also painted the ORVMs black and fitted 18-inch black alloy wheels. There is an INDULGE badge on the C-pillar as well.

In person, the gold and black mix stands out a lot more than the usual Windsor shades. If you liked the Windsor's shape but found the regular colours a bit plain, this is the version to look at.

Inside the Cabin

The seats are done in an Urban Tan and Black theme. The front headrests carry INDULGE embroidery. MG also gives themed cushions and neck pillows in the box.

The biggest change is the PRIVE Screen. It is a screen fixed to the roof that the rear passengers can use for entertainment, and it comes standard. MG has not shared the screen size yet. For families who do long highway runs with kids in the back, this could be the one feature that tips the decision.

Everything else carries over from the Essence. You still get the 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen, Aero Lounge rear seats that recline up to 135 degrees, the glass roof, ventilated front seats, the 9-speaker Infinity sound system and a 360-degree camera.

Is It a Limited Edition?

MG's brochure calls it a Limited Edition. Some reports say only 300 units will be made, but MG has not confirmed a number in its official release. The earlier Windsor Inspire Edition was limited to 300 units, so a similar cap is possible.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Rear PRIVE Screen comes standard, a rare feature at this price
  • Shadow Gold and black roof look fresh and special
  • All the Essence comfort features stay
  • Limited edition tag may help resale

Cons

  • Same 332 km range as other 38 kWh Windsors
  • Only Rs 5,000 less than the Exclusive Pro, which has the bigger battery
  • MG has not said how long the introductory price lasts
  • No Level 2 ADAS, which only the Essence Pro gets

Is the Windsor INDULGE Worth It?

If your Windsor will be used mostly for city runs and family trips, and the back seat matters to you, the INDULGE makes sense. Around Rs 85,000 over the Essence gets you a rear screen, a tan cabin and a paint shade nobody else has.

But if range is your worry, think twice. For just Rs 5,000 more, the Exclusive Pro gives you a 52.9 kWh battery and a certified range of 449 km. You lose the glass roof, ventilated seats and the rear screen though. We compare all variants in detail in our Windsor INDULGE vs other variants guide.

Who Should Buy It

  • Families who often have kids or elders in the back
  • Buyers who want a Windsor that looks different from the ones on the road
  • People who drive mostly within the city and do not need more than 300 km a day
