This article was first written in February 2026, when reports said the Hyundai Bayon could come to India with a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. Now the car is here, and the facts are clear. The India-spec Bayon uses Hyundai's 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. It is not a turbo, and there is no 1.2-litre option. Hyundai Bayon Price in India
The Bayon comes in seven trims. These are HX2, HX3, HX3 Plus, HX5, HX6, HX8 and HX10. The HX5 and above are also sold with a dual-tone (DT) roof, so there are 19 versions in all. All prices are ex-showroom and introductory.

Engine: 1.5-Litre Petrol, Not 1.2 Turbo
Earlier reports talked about a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and possible hybrid tech. That did not happen for India. The Bayon gets one engine only, the 1.5-litre MPi four-cylinder petrol. It makes 115 PS and 143.8 Nm. You can pick a 6-speed manual or the iVT automatic. Hyundai claims 18.6 kmpl for the iVT. There is no turbo petrol, no diesel and no hybrid at launch.

Design
The India-spec Bayon is a proper mid-size SUV. It is 4,245 mm long and 1,810 mm wide, so it sits above the Venue and below the Creta in Hyundai's line-up. The HX5 and higher trims can also be had with a dual-tone black roof.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Bayon gets two curved 12.3-inch screens, one for the driver and one for music and maps. It is Hyundai India's first car with a Generative AI voice assistant. It also gets over-the-air updates and Bluelink connected car features. Six airbags are standard, and the top trim gets Level 2 ADAS. Higher trims also get a 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring.
