Battery, range and performance
Both variants use a 39.4 kWh battery, a front-mounted electric motor producing 110 kW (150 PS) and 310 Nm, and front-wheel drive. Mahindra claims 0–100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and describes up to 285 km as a real-world range figure. The brochure separately lists certified range figures, which should not be treated as guaranteed everyday range. Actual range changes with speed, traffic, temperature, air-conditioning, load and driving style.

Charging time and warranty
With a 50 kW DC fast charger, Mahindra quotes 0–80 per cent charging in about 50 minutes. A 7.2 kW AC charger takes about 6.5 hours for 0–100 per cent. The battery pack and motor warranty is eight years or 1,60,000 km, whichever comes first. The vehicle warranty is three years with unlimited kilometres, subject to the manufacturer’s terms.
What does the AX5 include?
The AX5 is not a stripped-out variant. It includes twin 10.25-inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a single-pane sunroof, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a rear-view camera, six airbags, electronic stability control, cruise control, tyre-pressure monitoring, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, wireless charging and rear AC vents.
What does the AX7L add?
The AX7L adds a panoramic Skyroof, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, leatherette seats and dashboard trim, auto-dimming inside mirror, LED fog lamps, a cooled glovebox, front parking sensors and a 65 W USB-C charging port. Its largest functional upgrades are Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree surround-view camera with blind-view monitor, and a seven-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos.

The AX5 is the stronger value choice because it delivers the same battery, motor, claimed range and charging capability as the AX7L. It already includes the equipment most buyers use every day. Choose the AX7L if Level 2 ADAS, the 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof and premium cabin are worth the ₹1.07 lakh ex-showroom premium to you.
