Price: Is ₹27.2 Lakh Justified?

The EX90's premium pays for a newer platform, a dedicated electric powertrain and more technology. Autocar India and HT Auto both point out that the current-generation XC90 has been around for more than a decade, while the EX90 is Volvo's first software-defined vehicle in India. Bookings made before 31 December 2026 also come with an 11 kW wall box, a three-year service package and a 65% buyback after three years, which reduces the effective gap.

Performance

This is where the EX90 pulls clearly ahead. It has 456 hp and 670 Nm, against the XC90's 250 hp and 360 Nm, which makes it about 2.2 seconds quicker to 100 km/h on Volvo's claims. Electric motors also deliver their torque instantly and silently. Autocar India describes the XC90's four-cylinder engine as lacking punch compared with its rivals' six-cylinder engines.
