Royal Enfield is 125 years old this year. To mark it, the company has launched a special Classic 650. It is called the Classic 650 Hypershift, or the 125th Anniversary Edition. Its price is ₹4,25,589 ex-showroom. That is about ₹4.26 lakh.
Royal Enfield showed the bike on 16 October 2026. But you cannot just walk into a showroom and buy one. Only 125 units will be sold in India. So buyers have to register first and then try their luck on sale day.
Classic 650 Hypershift price
The Hypershift costs ₹4,25,589 ex-showroom. The normal Classic 650 starts at ₹3.68 lakh and goes up to ₹3.82 lakh for the Black Chrome colour. So the special edition costs about ₹58,000 more than the base bike. It costs about ₹43,500 more than the top colour. These two gaps are as reported by Autocar India.

There is only one variant of the Hypershift. In the US, the same bike costs $8,499.
What is Hypershift?
Many people think Hypershift is a new gearbox. It is not. Hypershift is the name of the paint. Royal Enfield says the colour changes from red to gold, and from bright to dark, as you look at it from different sides. The company says it mixed the idea of 120 colours into this one shade.
The bike also gets a gold 125 years crest on the tank. There are special badges on the side panels and hand painted pinstripes. The seat is a brown quilted leather seat.
Engine and specs
Under the paint, it is the same Classic 650. It uses the 648 cc parallel twin engine. The engine makes 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm. It has a six speed gearbox. The front has a telescopic fork and the rear has twin shocks from Showa. The seat height is 800 mm.
How to buy one
Registration opened on 16 October 2026 at 2 PM IST. In India, you can only register and buy in the Drop Zone of the Royal Enfield App. It is not sold on the website here.
The sale starts on 28 October 2026 at 7 PM IST. If you get one, you pay ₹20,000 in the app on that day. This booking money is not refunded. You pay the rest at the dealer you picked when you registered.
Media reports say deliveries will start in November 2026. Royal Enfield has made 625 units in total for the whole world. Once they are gone, they are gone.
Should you try for it?
If you love the Classic 650 and want something rare, this is a nice one to own. You pay extra only for looks and the 125 years story. If you just want a good Classic 650 to ride, the normal one gives you the same engine for less money.
