Ferrari has brought its first electric car to India. The Ferrari Luce is on show at the Universo Ferrari exhibition in New Delhi. This is the first time people in India can see the car up close. It is a show, not a launch. Ferrari has not given an India price or a sale date yet.
The show opened on 17 October at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka. The first two days were for invited guests only. The public can go in from 19 October. It runs until 1 November. Ferrari chief Benedetto Vigna opened it, says India Today.
What is the Ferrari Luce?
Luce means light in Italian. Ferrari showed the full car for the first time in Rome on 25 May 2026. It has four doors and five seats. That makes it the first Ferrari with five seats. The design came from LoveFrom. This is the studio of Jony Ive, who once led design at Apple, and Marc Newson.
It is also the biggest Ferrari yet. It is 5,026 mm long and almost 2 metres wide. The wheels are huge. They are 23 inch at the front and 24 inch at the back. The rear doors open the other way, from the back. Autocar India says it has the lowest drag of any road Ferrari.
Power, speed and range
There are four electric motors, one for each wheel. Together they make up to 1,050 PS, or 772 kW, in Launch Control mode. Ferrari says the car goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. It hits 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. Top speed is 310 km/h.
The battery holds 122 kWh. Ferrari says it was built in Maranello, its home town in Italy. Ferrari puts the range at more than 530 km. That number is an estimate, because the car is still going through its official tests. On a 350 kW fast charger, Ferrari says 70 kWh can go in within about 20 minutes.
| Spec | Ferrari Luce (Ferrari figures) |
|---|---|
| Motors | 4, one per wheel, all-wheel drive |
| Power | 1,050 PS (772 kW) in Launch Control |
| Torque | 990 Nm at the motors |
| Battery | 122 kWh, 800 V |
| Range | Over 530 km (estimate, not yet approved) |
| Fast charging | Up to 350 kW |
| 0 to 100 km/h | 2.5 seconds |
| Top speed | 310 km/h |
| Length x width x height | 5,026 x 1,999 x 1,544 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,961 mm |
| Boot | 597 litres |
| Kerb weight | 2,260 kg (with optional parts) |
It weighs 2,260 kg with optional parts, so it is a heavy car. But Ferrari also gave it active suspension and rear wheels that steer. These help it feel lighter on a twisty road. The motors make their own real sound. Ferrari does not play fake engine noise through the speakers.
Inside the cabin
The cabin mixes old and new. There are real metal buttons, switches and dials. There is also a 10 inch touch screen and a 12.5 inch OLED driver display, says Autocar India. The steering wheel is made from recycled aluminium. A 21 speaker sound system comes with the car.
The key is fun too. It is made of Corning Gorilla Glass and has an E Ink screen. Ferrari says this is a world first in a car. When you drop the key in its dock, it changes colour and the screens wake up.
Ferrari Luce price
Ferrari has not said what the Luce will cost in India. In Europe, it starts at about €550,000 before options, say Autocar India and autoX. Autocar India puts that at about ₹6.1 crore. That is only a simple currency change. Import duty and taxes in India would push the real price much higher. So any India price you see now is a guess.
For a sense of scale, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa costs about ₹10.37 crore ex-showroom in India. You can read about its India debut here.
Ferrari gives the Luce an 8 year warranty on its main electric parts. This covers the motors, the battery and the charging system.
How to see it at Universo Ferrari
Tickets are sold on District, and Ferrari is listed as the organiser. They start at ₹2,125. Every visitor needs a ticket, even children. You must carry an ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, a driving licence or a passport. Parking is free, and the venue is wheelchair friendly.
The Luce is not the only star. The F80 supercar and the 12Cilindri Manuale also make their India debut here. The 849 Testarossa, Purosangue and Amalfi Spider are on show as well. There are old classic cars, race cars and Ferrari's Hypersail boat too.
What it means for India
Ferrari sells cars in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru today. India Today reports that two more showrooms will open by the end of 2026. One will be in Chennai and one in Ahmedabad. An electric Ferrari is a rare car anywhere. But this big show suggests Ferrari now takes India more seriously.
