Variants: what each trim gets

There are 11 trims in two families. The MX and AX trims (MX1, MX2, AX5, AX5 L, AX7, AX7 L) are the standard line-up. The REVX trims (REVX M, REVX M(O), REVX EDGE, REVX EDGE (O), REVX A) have a sportier look, with a body-coloured grille and a dual-tone roof, and offer a lot of equipment for the money. Mahindra dropped the older MX2 Pro, MX3 and MX3 Pro trims when the EDGE arrived.

  • MX1: six airbags, ESC, four-wheel disc brakes and a 60:40 split rear seat as standard.
  • REVX EDGE: 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear camera, cruise control, rear AC vents and leatherette seats.
  • REVX EDGE (O): adds a panoramic sunroof, auto headlamps and wipers, keyless entry and push-button start.
  • AX7 L: the top trim, with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, twin 10.25-inch screens and 17-inch alloys.

The 131 hp TGDi petrol is one of the most powerful engines in the segment. The diesel is unusual too, because its AMT is rated more efficient than the manual (21.2 vs 20.6 kmpl). Owners usually see lower figures in real driving, which we cover in XUV 3XO mileage: ARAI vs real world. To choose a fuel type, read XUV 3XO petrol vs diesel.

Safety: 5 stars in Bharat NCAP

Every variant has six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX mounts, three-point seat belts with reminders for all seats, and disc brakes at all four wheels. The AX7 L adds Level 2 ADAS.
